My name is Jay Lynn Kelly, born in Pilot Point, Texas. My parents moved to Fort Worth, Texas when I was two years old.

My wife and recently returned from living overseas; which consisted of three years in Bangkok followed by two years in Istanbul. Prior to that expat period, I lived in Texas all my life where I pursued a thirty year career in the printing industry, then fifteen years as an artist represented by galleries across the United States. Just prior to my departure for Bangkok, I graduated from TCU with a BA (double major; Studio Art (painting) and Art History.

Soon after moving far away, I fell off the USA art radar. But as artist in residence with Ruamrudee International School in Bangkok, Thailand and while residing in Istanbul, Turkey, I continued to paint. I notice that as I progress along my artistic path, my work becomes more and more personal.

It seems to me that the world grows increasingly impatient and demanding with each passing day. This painting, ‘Various Ways and Means,’ is about our interconnectedness in the large universe where everyone can be counted on to grasp at whatever they believe might keep the fear of dissatisfaction at bay. I thank you for pausing in your day, and taking the time to look at my work. I hope you enjoyed it.
