Mai Almoataz is an artist and designer who explores dualities and paradoxes, absence and presence. She uses time, space, light and chemistry to deconstruct her experiential universe, sometimes with film and a darkroom, other times with objects and words. Her series — Proof of Presence — won first place in the Art Jameel Photography Award in 2016, and was partially shown in Bahrain, Riyadh, London, Paris, and Washington DC.
